Hello world! British Beer UK is officially Launched

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Welcome to my first post for www.beer.co.uk., over the coming months we intend to write detailed articles discovering the original origins of beer and the amazing history of Beer manufacturing. The history of how beer has evolved over the years, the varied brews and beer brands available in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and across the world.

We hope you will be surprised just how many great British beers are brewed in our historic island here in the United Kingdom. We also intend to feature some of this countries greatest Beer Marketing campaigns, Slogans, and logos.

We will also be working very closely with our friends at www.worldmusic.co.uk to discover more about their world musical tastes and what tipple, pint of beer or glass of wine goes well on a late evening theme party, they have much experience on what is drunk from Cuba to Italy, Germany to Spain, and how new comers from the great USA especially in New England have evolved complete new beer brands and distilling methods.

We will also cover other famous alcoholic drinks such as cider, especially our fantastic ciders and perries from Herefordshire,Worcestershire & Gloucestershire, plus great wines from across the globe.

We wish to raise the profile of all the breweries from Europe especially the English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh owners, and hope we can do our bit to support the beer entrepreneurs who toil away creating great mixes of hops and herbs, sometimes they only have limited volumes, but they need our support otherwise we will lose them, to some of the less tasty ‘beers’ from some mainstream producers.

If you love the taste of a great dark or light beer, please check out the great campaign work of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), who have worked very hard using grassroots support to point people to British pubs where one can get great fresh flavours. You can find out more about there mission at Camra.org.uk,

A special thanks to Patrick at The Hop Pocket Wine company in Ledbury for his years of valuable experience and guidance in helping me discover some great makers of speciality beers and great Red Wines, check his website out at www.hoppocketwine.co.uk to find out how to get to his shop based out of a converted Hop farm site near Ledbury Herefordshire.

The Hop Pocket Wine company selection of fine wines, beers and great Ciders is just amazing, in later posts I will hopefully get Patrick to share some of his great experience in tasting specialty beers and wines.

We also wish to cover some great background stories on famous beer entrepreneurs like founder of Cobra Beer Lord Karan Bilimoria (www.cobrabeer.com) who skilfully beat all odds through determination and hard work to create a whole new market to complement Indian food. We will also cover latest news from the Beer & Brewing Industry in the UK & Europe, plus reviews of great beer festivals you can visit and quality farmers markets where you can buy great special traditional beers.

Well as I said, it is my first Beer post No.1 , the official launch of www.beer.co.uk., to promote the best of the best great value Traditional British Beers.

Cheers.

“Billy Beer- writer & drinker!”
